Sparta, TN - The Southern Modified Promotion Open Wheel Series has announced the following schedule change.  Duck River has canceled the race scheduled for August 16th and Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN has graciously picked the race up on it's schedule.  The race pays $1,500 to win, $125 to start, and has a $60 entry fee.  Come one out and support Wayne Burns and Thunderhill Raceway, as they have supported the SMP this year!

”The Comp Cams Triple Crown Challenge At Moulton Speedway”

Sparta, TN - The Southern Modified Promotion Open Wheel Series is getting ready for round #2 of the "Comp Cams Triple Crown Challenge" at Moulton Speedway in Moulton,Al on August 2nd.  The race pays $1,500 to win and $125 to start, with a $60 entry fee.  The "Comp Cam Triple Crown Challenge" is a mini-series with the SMP schedule.  The winner of the challenge will receive $1,000 cash money from Comp Cams.  Second place will receive $500 in products from Comp Cams and third will receive $250 worth of products from Comp Cams.  The first round of the challenge was on April 19th at West Tennessee Motor Speedway, and the winner was T.J. Herndon of Atwood,TN, in an exciting 25 lap feature.  We expect the same great racing at Moulton Speedway, a track with a reputation for putting on excellent shows.  So join us on August 2nd at Moulton Speedway for some great Open Wheel racing...SMP style, as the bad boys and their bad toys are gonna put you on the edge of your seat for 35 laps!  For more information check out the websites at www.smpracing.net and www.moultonraceway.com

"Southern Modified Promotions October 11th Riverside International Info"

Sparta, TN -  The Southern Modified Promotions Open Wheel Series final race will take place at Riverside International Speedway on October 11th. We can now give you more details for that event...the race will be $3,000 to win and $300 to start for the feature. The entry fee for this race will be $100 if you pre-register by September 27th. If you register after this date, the entry fee will be $125. We are looking forward to a great show at Riverside for our series finale and we hope that our points battle goes down to the final race. We want to thank Clayton Allen of Riverside for giving the SMP the opportunity for having such a big event at his facility.
